Race Rocks Competition

Each year we will pick out two species that inhabit the Race Rocks Ecological Reserve. Race Rocks is located 17 kilometers southwest of Victoria at the eastern end of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and is the most southerly part of Canada’s Pacific coast. One of its nine islets is the site of the Race Rocks Light station, the second oldest lighthouse in Western Canada. Race Rocks is a showcase for Pacific marine life.

For 2012 you have your choice of the following marine mammals.

Carve either a Northern Sea Lion or a California Sea Lion.

Any carving style or category is eligible. Trophy + cash for Best of each skill level.
